What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You

Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a secure environment, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and help to maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.

Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:

A Secure Setting
Memory care residents do best in a familiar and comfortable environment, so Brookdale Brookfield features peaceful surroundings and a cozy setting to recreate the kind of home life they enjoy. Our easy-to-navigate floor plans and soothing wall colors are in place so residents feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. And with staff available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency, and enclosed walking areas, our residents remain secure while having complete freedom of movement throughout our entire community, including the outside patio.

A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
While our common areas are designed for socializing, our private apartments offer privacy and a quiet place. You can choose the apartment that will best suit your loved one’s particular needs. Filled with natural light, our apartments are a place for our residents to be surrounded by the comfort of their own familiar furnishings, family photos and treasured keepsakes. We’re very pet friendly, so if your loved one has a cherished four-legged friend, we look forward to welcoming them both into our community.

Consistent Care Assignments
We hire kind and compassionate care staff that we would want to have for our own family members. And, whenever possible, we assign the same care partners to your family member to promote regularity and familiarity. This allows us to provide an atmosphere where your loved one can experience a full life in a place where they are well known. Our attentive staff handles chores such as laundry and housekeeping while providing support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more.

Enriching Activities
With gentle guidance, we help your loved one flourish in activities such as gardening, kitchen work and other projects that provide the opportunity to continue to use the life skills and talents they’ve always had — even when their dementia is advanced. Our memory care program is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle structure of planned activities each day. Residents are provided engagement that offers stimulation and challenge but remains failure-free.

Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

We strive to give our residents a sense of comfort and stability that they are well known where they live. Our care associates are familiar with your family member’s histories, preferences, and routines to help support a person-centered relationship. This relationship means our care programs can vary significantly among residents and level of dementia. But one thing never changes. We meet your loved one right where they are, helping them live their best life with independence, dignity, and courage.
