Chief Executive Officer and Director
Nick Stengle joined Brookdale in October 2025 as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. He brings extensive leadership experience across senior living, healthcare and hospitality including executive roles at Gentiva, Kindred at Home and Sunrise Senior Living. Earlier in his career, he led operations at HMSHost International and Marriott International, served as a project leader at Boston Consulting Group and spent 11 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a Top Gun instructor pilot USA.

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mary Sue Patchett rejoined Brookdale in August 2025 and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since December 2025. She oversees community and field operations, including clinical care, sales and marketing, dining, resident experience and strategic operations. Ms. Patchett previously held several senior leadership roles at Brookdale and Horizon Bay and also founded Patchett & Associates, a consulting firm serving senior housing and healthcare companies.

Dawn L. Kussow joined Brookdale in March 2007 and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since February 2023. She also served on the Office of the CEO from April to October 2025 and was Interim Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Previously, she held leadership roles in accounting and financial reporting at Brookdale. Before joining the company, Ms. Kussow served with AON Hewitt and Deloitte & Touche LLP in Italy. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jaclyn C. Pritchett joined Brookdale in 2016 and has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer since March 2022. She leads human resources efforts focused on attracting, developing and retaining associates across the organization. During her tenure, she advanced through multiple HR leadership roles spanning talent acquisition, talent management and field operations. Before Brookdale, Ms. Pritchett held HR positions with Bridgestone America, Cracker Barrel and Voith.

Chad C. White joined Brookdale in February 2007 and has served as Executive Vice President since 2018, General Counsel since 2017 and Secretary since 2013. He also served on the Office of the CEO in 2025. Mr. White leads legal, regulatory and government affairs, corporate strategy, risk management and internal audit, and oversees information technology and Brookdale at Home. Before Brookdale, he held legal roles with Dollar General and Bass, Berry & Sims PLC.

Chad C. White joined Brookdale in February 2007 and has served as Executive Vice President since 2018, General Counsel since 2017 and Secretary since 2013. He also served on the Office of the CEO in 2025. Mr. White leads legal, regulatory and government affairs, corporate strategy, risk management and internal audit, and oversees information technology and Brookdale at Home. Before Brookdale, he held legal roles with Dollar General and Bass, Berry & Sims PLC.

David Cygan joined Brookdale in August 2014 and has served as Chief Marketing Officer since October 2019. He leads marketing, connection center sales, public relations and associate communications for the company. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Brookdale and held marketing leadership roles at Kindred at Home and AT&T. Mr. Cygan earned degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Georgia State University.

She leads clinical services, including care quality, compliance and clinical operations. Before Brookdale, she held senior clinical leadership roles at Signature HealthCARE and Kindred Healthcare. Ms. Jordan also served as a nurse consultant for CMS and was appointed to the President’s Coronavirus Commission for Safety and Quality in Nursing Homes in 2020.

Before Brookdale, Ms. Jones held senior IT leadership roles at Tenet Healthcare, Detroit Medical Center and Vanguard Health Systems, leading major technology modernization efforts in healthcare organizations

Tara Jones has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Brookdale since August 2020. She leads the company’s enterprise technology strategy, including information technology, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure and systems supporting operations and innovation. Clark Jones joined Brookdale in February 2026 and serves as Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations. He leads strategic operations supporting pricing, asset management, capital deployment and workforce planning. Before Brookdale, Mr. Jones served as Chief Asset Development and Management Officer at Pediatrix Medical Group and held multiple asset management and financial planning leadership roles at Sunrise Senior Living. Earlier in his career, he worked in commercial real estate and banking.
Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations
Clark Jones joined Brookdale in February 2026 and serves as Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations. He leads strategic operations supporting pricing, asset management, capital deployment and workforce planning. Before Brookdale, Mr. Jones served as Chief Asset Development and Management Officer at Pediatrix Medical Group and held multiple asset management and financial planning leadership roles at Sunrise Senior Living. Earlier in his career, he worked in commercial real estate and banking.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Development
Teddy Hillard joined Brookdale in January 2010 and has served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development since October 2020 and Assistant Treasurer since July 2025. He leads growth and capital strategy and supports financial planning, analysis and treasury functions. Mr. Hillard previously held corporate development roles of increasing responsibility at Brookdale and worked in investment banking and equity research at Avondale Partners. He earned a degree in economics from Vanderbilt University.

Mr. Hillard previously held corporate development roles of increasing responsibility at Brookdale and worked in investment banking and equity research at Avondale Partners.
