What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a secure environment, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and help to maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Easy-to-navigate common areas, all on a single level, and soothing wall colors help residents feel comfortable and not overwhelmed. Our purpose-built community incorporates special features such as large circular paths designed to lead residents to areas of activity, way-finding cues and spaces decorated like home. With secured entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep residents secure while encouraging freedom for them to explore. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
While our common areas are designed for socializing, our apartments offer privacy and a quiet place. And you can choose the apartment that best suits your loved one’s needs from several floor plans, including a companion suite. Filled with natural light from large windows, our apartments are a place for your loved one to be surrounded by the comfort of their own familiar furnishings, family photos and treasured keepsakes. Memory care residents thrive in an environment that feels comfortable and familiar, so Brookdale Reno is purposefully home-like, cozy and relaxing.
Consistent Care Assignments
Your loved one deserves to experience a full life in a place where they are well known. That’s why we strive to provide consistent care assignments so that your loved one is cared for by the same Brookdale associates whenever possible. This helps build out a relationship-rich partnership between a resident and their care provider, which in turn promotes familiarity and regularity. Our attentive staff provides support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more.
Our Clare Bridge Daily Path approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care provides our residents with a sense of purpose, meaning and belonging. Through a gentle structure of six programs per day, activities are tailored to maintain our residents' abilities and encourage the use of their current skills, even with advanced expressions of the disease. These include morning workouts with brain games and discussions and fitness activities such as dancing, walking, and our B-Fit program fitness program. We also help them flourish in gardening, kitchen work and other projects that provide the opportunity to use meaningful life skills and talents.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We understand that techniques that work for one resident may not work for another. Instead, our care partners are trained to provide customized care to meet your family member’s unique needs. Our care associates get to know our residents’ histories, routines, and preferences to support a person-centered relationship. But it's more than just a care approach. Our residents also benefit from our specialized environment and trained staff to support them at all stages of the disease.
