There are plenty of vibrant seniors out there who are ready, willing and able to take on the world—with just a bit of help. If you’re living a mostly independent lifestyle but could use an extra hand with some of your day-to-day activities, then Brookdale Shadowlake in Houston, Texas, with both assisted living and memory care, could be right for you.
Are you ready to try a journaling class after a jewelry creations class or Monday movie night? You have the freedom to try new things and enjoy new experiences and connections with interesting friends. You’ll have fewer worries and more time to focus on what you want to do. Our private apartments come with a selection of floor plans, plenty of natural window light and the freedom to make it your own with your personal style. And just in case, our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
Brookdale caregivers are available to provide assistance with daily living, balancing independence with assistance while delivering service with compassion, understanding, and respect.
Our memory care program is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. We offer the necessary resources and nurturing staff to care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
ActivitiesYou could start your morning with coffee on the screened porch before joining a fitness class. Or how about a game of trivia? Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to paint. You can be as involved as much or as little as you choose because there’s something for everyone, and our residents help choose our activities. For memory care residents, we offer our Daily Path, an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs per day, which maintain our residents' abilities and encourage the use of their current skills.

DiningWe believe that dining well is part of living well. That’s why we serve meals restaurant-style in our elegant dining room so you can order what you want and enjoy conversation with others at your table. The best part: you never have to wash dishes when you’re done with your meal. For memory care residents, we also use mealtime as an opportunity to offer healthy and delicious menu choices and create a sense of belonging. We support our memory care residents’ interests in food by enhancing the dining experience with music and warm, scented hand towels.
