What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
With monitored entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep your loved one safe while allowing them to have a sense of freedom and independence to explore and providing purpose with sensory experiences. And other features such as large circular paths designed to lead residents to activity areas and way-finding cues help our residents feel comfortable and at ease. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
Your loved one will feel right at home with our purpose-built community designed specifically for the needs of those living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s. Our apartments have plenty of natural window light, and some even have a garden view. We’ll help you make your loved one’s apartment familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring. Plus, we’re a pet-friendly community because we know it’s not really home without our four-legged family members.
Consistent Care Assignments
We don’t just hire good people; we invest in quality training and education to help keep our staff up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques. They specialize in techniques like physical prompting and cueing to maintain independence, validation, and other communication techniques for better understanding and partnership. And to ensure your loved one is well known, we assign the same care partners whenever possible. These assignments also encourage familiarity and richer relationships which help lessen behavioral symptoms.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. This established routine helps your loved one maintain his or her abilities, encourages the use of current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include music and art programs, brain games and movement classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We understand that techniques that work for one resident may not work for another. So instead, our care partners are trained to provide relationship-rich care. Our residents have consistently assigned care associates who know their histories, routines, and preferences to support a person-centered relationship and meet the unique needs of early, middle or late stages of dementia. And it's more than just a care approach. Our residents also benefit from our specialized environment and attention to support them.
