Happy hour, dancing, movies—who says they’re for young people only? At Brookdale Salem, a luxurious assisted living community that also offers Alzheimer’s and dementia care services, your retirement years can be full of happy hours and anything else you want. As an assisted living resident at our community, just out of Roanoke, Virginia, you’ll relish a busy social calendar and a life of independence while still receiving the personal assistance you need.
Should your needs change over time, and you require memory care, you can often remain here, in your home, with the familiar surroundings and close friendships that are so important to your happiness and well-being. You and your family will have peace of mind knowing that we have trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
Brookdale caregivers are available to provide assistance with daily living, balancing independence with assistance while delivering service with compassion, understanding, and respect.
Our memory care program is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. We offer the necessary resources and nurturing staff to care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
ActivitiesYou’ll have endless opportunities to join in activities and clubs to share with friends and neighbors. Shopping trips to local stores and boutiques, crafting classes or afternoon matinees are just a few ways you could spend each day. Our memory care residents receive a gentle daily structure tailored to preserve their abilities, encourage the use of their current skills and help them maintain their quality of life for as long as possible. They benefit from fun brain games, fitness activities, and outings while participating in a daily music program and arts and crafts.
