Emeritus at Charleston Gardens offers a home-like setting and cheerful smiles from our caring, professional staff that greets you everyday. We offer 95 private senior apartment homes on two floors with an elevator for easy access. There are many common areas such as a TV room, a lobby, an activity room and a beauty shop for residents to gather and enjoy. Our peaceful setting, restaurant-style dining, transportation and activities programs that include shopping trips and outings: combine to create a wonderful living environment everyday. We also offer on-site rehabilitation by Genesis Rehabilitation Services. Our staff prides itself on respecting the privacy and individuality of our residents while at the same time creating a real sense of community.

We have built great relationships with our local area hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. These include CAMC, St. Francis, Thomas Memorial hospitals, and many other facilities. We work with very closely with the Genesis Oakridge Center next door, the choice of many of our residents. We communicate regularly with all of these facilities for our current and future residents’ needs.
The Emeritus at Charleston Gardens management team has many years of combined experience in the senior living industry. Many of the management team members have worked together for several years. We have friendly, caring staff who truly care about the residents. Our caring staff offers the assistance you need while respecting your independence. Our Community Lifestyle
Active Community Relationship
Emeritus at Charleston Gardens is part of the local community. We host monthly “family nights” for our residents and families and events for the public so they can see what Emeritus at Charleston Gardens has to offer. We also hold monthly Alzheimer’s support groups and events to support the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk campaign. There are also educational seminars offered to both residents and the public.
Our monthly “family nights” are filled with entertainment, often provided by the community’s own staff. We host an annual anniversary party and holiday parties with entertainment and great food. Our residents have many opportunities to be involved in many daily activities including exercise, religious events, crafts, and even happy hour. But if you ask some of the residents, one of the more exciting events are the corn hole games where they even hold a tournament.
Partnering with the Community
Emeritus at Charleston Gardens are members of the WV Health Care Association and the WV Assisted Living Association and participate on committees to keep current with topics related to assisted living. We also exhibit and sponsor at major conferences spreading the word about our wonderful community. We also participate the Charleston Area Alliance events.
Emeritus at Charleston Gardens offers restaurant-style dining which includes three meals a day and snacks in our elegant dining room. Our menu changes daily and alternates are always available if the day’s offering is not to your liking. Family and friends are welcome to join us for meals. We also host a “family night” each month with a special menu. Emeritus at Charleston Gardens offers a private dining room for your special occasions, available at no charge. We also work with you and your physician if a special diet is required. Our Dining Services Director meets regularly with the residents to ensure that our menu reflects the community’s tastes and preferences.
