After a single visit to Brookdale College Square in beautiful Overland Park, Kansas, you will discover our memory care residents seem more like family members than neighbors. Greeted by warm smiles, you will hear laughter coming from the hallways and experience the genuine warmth and friendliness each member of the care team has for each man and women who calls this community home. You will even notice the residents participating in enriching activities and events that inspire cognitive retention and social interaction.
We know how difficult it can be to transition your loved one’s care to someone else, but we know you will find peace and comfort knowing our care team is available on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency and to provide your family member with everything from help with the daily tasks of life to personal dining assistance. With gentle guidance and reminders throughout the day, each senior in our memory care community experiences a full and rich life surrounded by new friends and loving staff members.
Memory Care at Brookdale College Square
Our memory care focuses on creating a personalized experience. That means there is no one-size-fits-all approach to care here. Techniques that work for one resident may not work for your family member, so we tailor care to the individual and help address their needs with consistent care assignments whenever possible. Whether it’s our Clare Bridge program for mid to late stages of dementia or our Solace program for the advanced stages of dementia, we have purposeful programs with the compassionate care you and your family need. Here are some of our programs:
Clare Bridge is our exclusive brand of dementia care created more than 30 years ago.
Clare Bridge Solace is designed to meet the special needs of residents in the advanced stages of dementia.
ActivitiesFrom here, your loved one will enjoy activities that promote social interaction and cognitive retention. They may engage in nature walks, morning fitness classes, Travel Club, arts and crafts, history lectures or music therapy. Or perhaps they will go on a lunch outing, learn to make bird feeders or participate in beginner Spanish classes. No matter which activities they participate in, you can rest assured that each one provides rewarding and challenging experiences that promote holistic health and wellness.
DiningThe dining program at Brookdale College Square is specifically designed for those living with dementia. We offer three meals and snacks a day, finger foods to promote and encourage as much independence and dignity as possible, and dementia-friendly menus with a wide variety of options crafted to help prevent weight loss. Your loved one will experience structure and routine at each meal with consistent seating and support from our loving care team, as needed, so they can enjoy a comfortable and fulfilling dining experience.
Our memory care program is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. We offer the necessary resources and nurturing staff to care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
