Family. Hobbies. Travel. When you turned 70, did your passions fade? We didn’t think so. If anything, age strengthens those interests. But as you get older, you sometimes need a little help. At Brookdale West Orange, we can help you with the little things—like simple housekeeping and meals—and with bathing and getting dressed, too. With assisted living and memory care on one campus, we customize your care to your specific needs. So if your needs change over time, and you need memory care in the future, you probably won’t have to change communities. You can often stay in the same environment surrounded by familiar faces.
So try a laughter yoga class or join your new friends for movie night at our theater on campus. We’ll take care of the rest so you can focus on fun ways to spend your day. Your basic utilities and maintenance are typically included so you won’t have as many bills to worry about. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that staff is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency. Plus, with several floor plans to choose from, you’ll find just the right pet-friendly apartment to fit your style.
Brookdale caregivers are available to provide assistance with daily living, balancing independence with assistance while delivering service with compassion, understanding, and respect.
Our memory care program is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. We offer the necessary resources and nurturing staff to care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
ActivitiesYou could start your morning with coffee chats before joining a B-Fit fitness class. Maybe you’ve always wanted to join a club—we have a men’s club, book club, garden club and Rummikub club. Or how about a game night with cards or bingo? You decide. Our memory care residents enjoy equally fulfilling activities through our daily path of engagement—a gentle structure of six planned programs per day designed to maintain your loved one’s abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. These structured activities come with fun options, too, including chair yoga, the baking club and sing-alongs, just to name a few.
DiningYou’ll enjoy restaurant-style dining in our elegant dining room where our menu options are all about you. You can share your suggestions, feedback and family recipes during our weekly menu chats. We also have a private dining room you can reserve for special celebrations with family and friends. Did you know people living with dementia are at a greater risk for poor nutrition and weight loss? That’s why we use mealtime as an opportunity to offer healthy, dementia-friendly menu choices and create a sense of belonging for our memory care residents.
