All of Brookdale’s assisted living communities give you the chance to make friends, explore new hobbies and stay active. With events and activities on the calendar every single day, you can always find something fun to do. To give you a better idea of what we mean, here’s a look at what a typical day as an assisted living resident looks like:

7:30 a.m. — Wake Up
You leisurely wake up in your private apartment and wait for the friendly staff to bring your medication. 

8:00 a.m. — Eat Breakfast
You’re off to the dining room for a delicious breakfast of Greek yogurt, granola and fresh strawberries. Sometimes you have breakfast in your room, but today you want to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee.

9:00 am — Enjoy Personal Time
Before you moved in here, you might have spent the morning tending to the house. But now that someone else handles the chores, you have fewer worries and more free time. You can soak up this relaxation time by sipping on a second cup of coffee in the dining room and then head to the fireside living room to read a few chapters of the latest novel before your book club meeting later in the week.

12:00 Noon­ — Eat Lunch
It’s lunchtime! You’re really looking forward to it because you and some other residents are heading out in the Brookdale van to your favorite local café. Lunches at Brookdale are delicious, but it is nice to enjoy a day out with friends.

1:30 p.m. — Stimulate Your Brain
You are always excited to see what new mental activity is on the schedule. Today, you are participating in a Flex Your Brain session. Tomorrow you could be exploring the iPad or engaging in a Grow Your Brain project.

2:45 p.m. — Learn About Health
At the community center, you listen to an Optimum Life Health Talk on how to reduce stress. 

4:00 p.m. — Relax
You’ve been needing a haircut so you conveniently head off to the on-site salon. Your stylist does a fabulous job, and you can't wait to show your friends at dinner.

7:00 p.m. — Watch Movies
Of course you saved room for some delicious popcorn. So you sit with your friends in the community living room and watch a film, perhaps a current blockbuster hit or one of the classics. 

9:00 p.m. — Get Ready for Bed
After a fun-filled day, it’s time for bed. Once you get back to your apartment, you take a shower with some help from the staff, climb into your cozy bed and do a little reading and contemplation. Tomorrow brings a whole new calendar of activities to choose from, and you can’t wait to experience them all.
