About Our Community
Brookdale South Park has long been associated as a thriving business district, as well as home to some of Charlotte’s most affluent residential neighborhoods. Brookdale South Park is located in the heart of South Park, and is the only stand-alone community specifically designed for memory care in the area. Our location provides quick access to Charlotte’s top hospitals including CMC Pineville, CMC Mercy, CMC Main, and Presbyterian Hospital, as well an established network of physicians and rehabilitation facilities.
A great location for families and visitors, Brookdale South Park is home to one of the largest and most upscale shopping malls in the region; with shops including Louis Vuitton and Tiffany’s to name a few. Fine dining, parks, greenways, and cultural activities, including Symphony Park, the summer home of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, are just some of the many reasons South Park is one of the Queen cities most desirable locations – all within minutes from Brookdale South Park.
Set on two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at South Park is considered one of North Carolina’s premier Alzheimer’s communities. Located close to I-77, our community offers 52 senior apartments on one floor for easy access. Here our residents enjoy their retirement living. And should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services; tailor-made to your needs. We’ve designed our services to focus on wellness, helping you maintain or improve your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
Brookdale South Park sits on two acres of landscaped grounds, including Charlotte’s largest outdoor walking space for a memory care community in the area. Our walking trails include a serene, safe setting with plenty of space to sit and admire nature, as well as ample space for vegetable, herb and flower gardening.
Our outdoor gazebo and large covered patio are spaces often used for family and friends to gather. The footprint of our community was specifically designed with dementia and Alzheimer’s care in mind. Every space in our community is carefully designed to promote a healthy, supportive environment; including our indoor walking area that encourages movement.
Our life stations and memory boards encourage reminiscing and independence, as well as meaningful interaction with caregivers and loved ones. Our four unique neighborhoods provide quality care with individualized care plans in a soothing and comfortable setting.
Our staff is committed to providing quality care, and is specially trained, on an ongoing basis, to understand and respond to the specific needs related to people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Because your family’s experience is unique, our goal is to get to know you and your loved one, so that we can offer support and solutions for your individual situation.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Brookdale South Park is committed to being a community resource for information and support. Our community partners with organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, allowing us to be a host location for monthly caregiver support group luncheons, which are open to the community. Emeritus at South Park has been supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and hosts regular events and fundraisers throughout the year to help support the cause.
Brookdale South Park is committed to making sure that each individual and family that contacts us finds their loved one the best solution. In order to meet that goal, Brookdale South Park works closely with hospitals, non-profits, adult day care centers, senior centers, hospice agencies, among others to ensure we provide choice and options to everyone we come in contact with.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
Brookdale South Park offers regular group outings to local places of interest including Uptown Charlotte, the Billy Graham Library and the Lake Norman Riverboat Ride, among others. Weekly devotions, daily exercise programs, music therapy, pet therapy and programming through Queens University, are all examples of how Emeritus at South Park tailors programming to meet the needs of our loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Our common areas — including our lovely dining room, TV Room, Wellness Center and Activity Center — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. With a full-time Program Director on staff, we offer a wide range of activities each month, including scenic bus tours, tours of local churches, lunch and worship at Sharon Presbyterian and trips to the Endangered Species Ranch. Emeritus at South Park is located in a peaceful, upscale, residential neighborhood area, near the South Park Mall in South Charlotte. Our senior living community is also close to CMC Pineville, CMC Main, Presbyterian and Mercy Hospital and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
Our Dining Services Director and team create three nutritious meals and three snacks throughout the day. A hydration program promotes well-being and helps avoid complications associated with dehydration. Our dining services team can prepare a wide variety of specialized meal programs, from low sodium to more detailed diets including puree, to meet the individual needs of each resident. Brookdale South Park hosts quarterly family nights and special events open to the community. And our dining services team is also available to prepare a light snack or full meal for professionals in the area as well as seniors living in our community through our home visit program.
