Private in-home services, which Brookdale at Home offers, are nonmedical services where an hourly companion provides support or companionship at a personal home or senior living community for seniors or anyone needing daily or weekly assistance. Some of the services Brookdale at Home offer are light meal preparation and/or housekeeping, errand service, pet care, and more.
Home health care is a type of skilled medical care, for those who qualify, that’s designed to help you recover from specific health situations, such as a medical procedure, or from a fall or illness. Home health care is often performed by a skilled nurse, rehabilitation therapist, home health aide or medical social worker. This kind of care requires a physician’s order and that you meet certain eligibility requirements in order to qualify. Medicare often will cover it.
For private in-home services, which Brookdale At Home provides, you don’t need a physician’s order or need to meet eligibility requirements in order to qualify. The services provided are less clinical focused, and instead are meant to provide support or assistance with errands, meal preparation, and more. Medicare doesn’t cover these services, and instead you’re responsible for paying for it privately. Typically, you get to decide what services you need or want, as well as how often a companion comes to your house.
You do not need to meet any medical qualifications or receive a physician’s order to be eligible for private duty, at home services. As long as your service needs/wants match up with our agency’s scope of service, you should be eligible to receive services. Brookdale At Home provides a no-cost/no obligation evaluation of your needs or wants prior to starting services. To learn more, give us a call.
The cost for private in-home services does depend on certain factors like the amount of companion time you’re requesting per week and the types of services you want. If you are interested in pricing, reach out to a Brookdale at Home agency in your area.
