At Brookdale Salem, exceptional seniors receive exceptional Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Our community specializes in caring for residents impaired by symptoms of early, middle, or late stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia. We do that by providing a combination of safety and stability that allows our residents to thrive. We also have built and perfected a way of pairing seniors with both peers and activities suited for their specific abilities. This makes sure that they’re always challenged, engaged with life, and paired with a social circle they fit right into.
We serve seniors and their families from Salem and other surrounding towns in the Marion County and Polk County region of Willamette Valley in northwestern Oregon. We’re considered one of the premier memory care communities in this area because of the relationships we have with families who entrust us with the well-being of their loved ones.
Memory Care at Brookdale Salem
When residents move into our community, their world often opens up with new relationships and new activities. Through consistent care assignments, our compassionate care team helps create daily experiences for your family member so that they can feel well-known and live their best life with a sense of meaning and purpose. Whether it’s our Clare Bridge program for mid to late stages of dementia or our Solace program for the advanced stages of dementia, we have purposeful programs with the compassionate care you and your family need. Here are some of the programs and services we offer:
Clare Bridge is our exclusive brand of dementia care created more than 30 years ago.
Clare Bridge Solace is designed to meet the special needs of residents in the advanced stages of dementia.
ActivitiesYou’ll see our residents enjoying exercise classes such as chair yoga or walkabouts, art projects, karaoke, the Good News club and music programs. We also offer nail design spa days, devotional services, nature walks and sing-alongs — all designed to help your family member live life to the fullest. With gentle guidance and visual reminders, we help them flourish in gardening, kitchen work like cooking and baking demonstrations and other projects that help them use meaningful life skills and talents — even with advanced expressions of the disease.
DiningPeople living with dementia may be at a greater risk for poor nutrition and weight loss. That’s why we use mealtime as an opportunity to offer healthy and delicious menu choices and create a sense of belonging. We support your loved one’s interest in food by enhancing the dining experience with music, beautiful centerpieces, warm and scented hand towels and fresh linens. Our residents enjoy dementia-friendly menus with familiar and easy-to-manage selections, small dining rooms with consistent pre-selected seating and personal dining assistance.
Our memory care program is deeply rooted in a person-centered approach. We offer the necessary resources and nurturing staff to care for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
