Looking for a soothing, warm drink that is also good for you? We’ve got you covered.

When the weather cools down, we start to crave something warm - a cup of soup, a nice bowl of chili, a warm mug of something soothing. You may already be a coffee addict or have a brand of tea that you enjoy. But if you’re in the market to try something new, there are other fun drinks you can rotate in. Next time you’re craving something warm and cozy in a mug, consider whipping up one of these easy – and healthier – recipes.

Turmeric Latte

Often referred to as a “golden latte,” this drink contains turmeric and ginger, both of which are known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It’s a warm drink with a mild spicy flavor and can be sweetened to your liking. This version by Eating Well can be whipped up in 10 minutes and makes a great fall drink.

Healthier Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate can often be packed with additives, like sugar. Depending on the type of milk used, a grande serving from Starbucks, for instance, has approximately 34 grams of sugar, which for many people is an entire day’s worth of recommended sugar in one drink! This recipe by Well Plated is a somewhat healthier version sweetened with a splash of maple syrup. The kosher salt gives it the nice savory taste we crave with chocolate, and this can be prepared with the milk of your choice.

Spiced Apple Cider

Pumpkin patch visits and trips to the cider mill would not be complete without apple cider. Did you know you can make this at home with just a few quick ingredients? It’s all the fall season feels in one warm cup! This recipe by Minimalist Baker is delicious and easy.

Healthier Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

As soon as the weather cools off, it’s a big yes to pumpkin spice everything! Just like hot chocolate, store-bought pumpkin spiced lattes can be loaded with sugary syrups. This healthy recipe by Eating Bird Food uses actual pumpkin and spices to give it the pumpkin flavor you’re likely craving.

Chai Tea Latte

A Chai tea latte usually provides less caffeine than a cup of coffee, typically 20 to 55 milligrams, and is a delicious treat to slowly sip. It’s a flavorful, mildly spicy tea packed with all the spices we associate with cool fall days. While you can buy chai tea bags at the store, it can be fun to make your own version. Pair it with warm milk and you have a delicious latte. Here’s a great recipe by Live Simply

Matcha Latte

Another tea drink with less caffeine than coffee, a matcha latte is one part green tea powder and one part milk. Green tea can be high in antioxidants and has been said to have the potential to provide other health benefits, such as promoting heart health. This recipe by Love & Lemons uses coconut milk, but you can use any milk of your choosing.
