Helping to choose senior living for a loved one isn’t something to be taken lightly. Back in 2010, when Grady Joiner’s mother needed rehab, he and his wife, Judy, began to understand how true that was. Overloaded with options, the couple didn’t know much about senior living, but what they did know was that they wanted the best care for Grady’s mother.
“You heard of helicopter parents? We’re helicopter kids,” Judy admits with a chuckle.
The search went on, but it wasn’t until a friend and social worker recommended a community in their area that their longstanding history of care with Brookdale began. “It’s where I would take my mom,” she told Judy. And so, they did. Nine years later, Judy and Grady are still making visits to Brookdale. This time to see Judy's father Al. Remembering the attentitive care Grady's mother received made the decision for Al easier.
