Since their marriage in 1955, Kent Patterson has spent every day with the love of his life, his wife and high school sweetheart, Sally. “I always wanted to be with her. We just enjoyed each other’s company,” said Kent of his courtship with Sally.
Sixty-five years later, the pair are still just as in love. Though their marriage looks a little different – Sally is living with Alzheimer’s –it doesn’t stop them from doing what they love: holding hands, something that became a pillar in their relationship all those years ago. Their move to Brookdale has made it possible for Sally to get the care she needs and given Kent the opportunity to continue to honor his vow to Sally. “They care for me as much as they care for Sally,” he said. “I need her, so it brings me great comfort.”
