Seattle, Washington

If you’re looking to escape the humidity, Seattle might be a great choice for your vacation. With humidity levels remaining consistent and rainfall at its lowest, summer is one of the best times to visit Seattle. Some great places to visit include Pike Place Market, featuring over 500 businesses to explore, the waterfront Olympic Sculpture Park and Woodland Park Zoo, home to animals such as the Humboldt penguin and red panda. The city’s natural beauty and long days mean you have lots of time to experience the wonders of Seattle.

Traverse City, Michigan

Warmer days and cooler nights make Traverse City a pleasant place to visit. With daytime temperatures averaging in the mid- to high-70s and evening temperatures in the 50s to low 60s, you can enjoy walking around The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park, exploring the National Cherry Festival or swimming at Clinch Park Beach, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Whether you’re looking to stroll the quaint downtown area and do some shopping or play a round of golf, Traverse City has something for everyone.

Coos Bay, Oregon

The Oregon Coast offers a refreshing getaway for those looking to trade the scorching heat in favor of cool ocean breezes and dry days. Coos Bay, named the best small town in Oregon for seniors by WorldAtlas, is known for its scenic views and sunny days. July, August and September are the warmest months of the year with temperatures hovering around the mid-60s. If you’re looking to see some wildlife, head to the Simpson Reef Overlook where you’ll have great views of seals, sea lions and whales. The Coos Bay Farmers Market is a great way to meet members of the community while shopping for fruits and vegetables, snacks and handmade gifts. A summer spent in Coos Bay is sure to be relaxing.

Jackson, Wyoming

Situated at the southern end of the Jackson Hole valley, Jackson is a quintessential mountain town. Surrounded by the Teton Mountain Range on one side and the Gros Ventre Range on the other, the weather is mild, leaving no shortage of indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy. Ride the Aerial Tram up Rendezvous Mountain, where you’ll discover unparalleled views of the Tetons and Jackson Hole Valley. Take a scenic drive through Grand Teton National Park, where you may see moose, bison, bald eagles, grizzly bears and more. You could also go for a relaxing boat ride across Jenny Lake, featuring gorgeous mountain views. And when you get off the boat, take a short hike to Hidden Falls or Inspiration Point. Jackson is great for anyone seeking to get outside and connect with nature.
